Cabbage Steak Recipe

Crispy, caramelized oven-roasted cabbage steaks seasoned with smoked paprika, garlic powder, and olive oil. Ready in under an hour.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large head green cabbage
  • 3 –4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Optional: red pepper flakes parmesan, lemon zest

Method
 

Preheat
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Slice cabbage
  1. Remove outer leaves. Slice cabbage into 1 to 1.5-inch thick rounds through the core.
Season
  1. Whisk olive oil with all spices. Brush both sides of each steak generously.
Roast
  1. Roast for 25 minutes, flip, then roast another 15–20 minutes until caramelized.
Broil
  1. Optional: broil on high for 2–3 minutes for extra crispy edges.
Serve
  1. Serve immediately with your choice of sauce or toppings.
