Ingredients
Method
Step 1 — Marinate the Beef:
- Toss sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp cornstarch. Rest for 10–15 minutes.
Step 2 — Make the Sauce:
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and broth. Add 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry). Whisk until smooth.
Step 3 — Cook the Broccoli:
- Blanch or steam broccoli for 2 minutes, then rinse under cold water to stop cooking.
Step 4 — Stir-Fry the Beef:
- Heat oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
Step 5 — Combine:
- Add sauce to the pan; simmer until thickened. Return beef and broccoli, tossing to coat evenly.
Step 6 — Serve:
- Serve hot over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- Slice beef thin and against the grain for tenderness.
- Keep broccoli slightly crisp for texture contrast.
- Cook on high heat for authentic stir-fry flavor.
- Double the sauce if you love it extra saucy!
- Add chili paste or Sriracha for a spicy kick.
